Refund policy

About us:
IGNITE INTERNATIONAL SDN BHD, is a company organised and existing under the laws of Malaysia (1561238-D) with its registered office address at 4.62, 4th Floor, Wisma Central, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.


Purpose:
This policy outlines the eligibility, procedures and guidelines for refunds applicable to parents at Ignite@school regarding after school enrichment programmes. It aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and consistency in handling refund requests for various services provided.


Scope:
This policy applies to all refund requests made by parents or legal guardians for fees, material fees, or charges related to enrichment programmes at Ignite@school, excluding one-to-one programmes.

1. Eligibility for Refunds:

1.1 Refunds are only applicable under specific circumstances such as withdrawal from the school, cancellation of services or events, or any other valid reasons recognised by the Ignite@school administration.

1.2 Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Ignite@school administration. Verbal requests will not be considered.

1.3 Refunds will be granted solely at the discretion of the Ignite@school administration, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in this policy.

1.4 All fees are forfeited if a child is expelled from the programme.


2. Refundable Fees and Charges

2.1 Programme fees and snack fees (if applicable) paid in advance are eligible for refunds as per the terms and conditions specified in this policy.

2.2 Non-refundable fees, such as material fees, or other administrative charges, will not be eligible for refunds unless explicitly stated otherwise.

2.3 Cancellation before programme commences:
(a) Cancellation occurs > 2 Weeks prior to programme start date: 100% of the applicable fees will be refunded
(b) Cancellation occurs < 2 Weeks prior to programme start date: not entitled to refund

2.4 Cancellation after programme commences:
Not entitled to any refund of any fees if Ignite receives your refund request after the commencement of the applicable programme.

2.5 Missing a lesson:
(a) Not entitled to refund of any fees if your child does not attend a lesson due to personal reasons.
(b) Eligible for a refund if your child is absent due to medical reasons that require hospitalisation, provided there is a medical certificate from a hospital.

2.6 Rescheduling or cancellation by Education Providers:
(a) In the event that the Education Provider is unfit, or unavailable to run any scheduled classes, it is the Education Provider’s responsibility to provide a suitably qualified substitute. If this cannot be arranged, the affected classes will be cancelled and the Pupils will be entitled to a refund for the cancelled classes.


3. Refund Procedure:

3.1 Upon receipt of a written refund request, the Ignite@school administration will review the request and determine its validity based on the reasons provided and the terms of this policy.

3.2 If the request is approved, the Ignite@school administration will process the refund within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days from the date of approval.

3.3 Refunds will be issued in the form of a Credit Note in your user account or credited into your bank account if you do not wish to receive the credits.

3.4 All refund communication should be made between Ignite@school administration and parents. Any refund communication between the programme providers and parents is strictly not valid and is not eligible for refund. Please contact [email protected] for refund matters.


4. Force Majeure

4.1 “Force Majeure Event” means circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to, fire, explosion, flood, war, earthquake or other natural disasters, computer hacking, embargoes, epidemic, pandemic, strike, riot, civil commotion, changes in applicable laws, inability to secure materials and/or transportation facilities (other than due to that party’s default in any of its financing obligations), the intervention of any governmental authority, unavailability of the Education Provider, teacher or Ignite personnel, unavailability or unsuitability of the applicable Site, or any unforeseeable event that prevents Ignite from performing its obligations.

4.2 Ignite shall not be liable for its failure to perform any of its obligations or delay of any of its obligations that is impacted by a Force Majeure Event.

4.3 In the event where Force Majeure Event occurs, Ignite shall use its reasonable efforts to:
4.3.1 promptly notify you of the existence of the Force Majeure Event and the impacted classes;
4.3.2 reschedule the impacted classes (if possible); and/or
4.3.3 arrange an alternative arrangement to make up for the impacted classes.


5. General

5.1 This policy may be updated, varied, modified, amended, or replaced by Ignite from time to time by placing the updated version of this policy on the website.

5.2 You agree and consent to be bound by this policy as they may be updated, varied, modified, amended, or replaced from time to time.


6. Definitions

6.1 For the purposes of this policy, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
6.1.1 “Class” means an education class booked through the Ignite platform.
6.1.2 “Programme” means a series of classes that make up an educational programme.
